Your wedding day has finally arrived . . . you’ve spent months, maybe dreamed about it for years, and ultimately decided on all the little details that reflect the person you are and make your day extra special. After the wedding day comes to an end, it is all the moments and the details you want to have a remembrance of, and perhaps, did not have the time to fully appreciate at the time.


Vineyard view ceremony with Reverend Jacqueline Eigen of Wine Country Minister as officiant. The ceremony was attended by their immediate family and, upon returning home from Napa Valley, they held a reception to celebrate with family and friends.

I touched on wedding traditions a few days ago. Cutting the wedding cake is a tradition for sure! At most of our elopements, it is the first “meal” the couple share as husband and wife and a sweet one at that. I like that idea. I am so glad to say that we don’t often see the old “smashing the cake in the face” routine any more when couples feed each other. It ruins the bride’s make up and could get all over the perfect gown she has dreamed of ever since she was a little girl — who ever thought cake smashing was a good idea?

Venue: Churchill Manor

For their wedding, they chose the Cedar Gables Inn, a bed and breakfast located in Old Towne Napa.




Bride and groom descended the staircase together, as their guests waited for them in the main parlor below. Rev. Blane Ellsworth of Wedding Ministries was the officiant for their ceremony.

Rainy day wedding . . . always good to have a back up plan for an outside ceremony, which they did. The ceremony was moved into the Vineyard View Room, whereas we were able to move about the property for bride and groom photos with umbrella in tow. I can remember many times when we have photographed in the rain and it makes for some beautifully lit photos.

This will be my last post for today. The Rutherford room at Churchill Manor just so happens to be one of my favorite rooms at the inn simply because of the color. Pink is one of my favorite colors and, as you will see, the wall paper is predominantly in shades of pink.


I wondered if the bride knew the color of her room when she chose her bridal bouquet.
