This is the 200th post to our blog since it’s inception! Thank you to all the couples that entrust us to capture one of the most important days in their lives, which makes it possible to have so many beautiful events to share here.
Today we have Caroline and Joe’s wedding — it was just the two of them for their Napa Valley nuptials in a lush garden setting surrounded by roses.

When we arrive at a venue, I go straight to the bride’s room for portraits and Mark does the same with the groom. That way, we can accomplish getting two segments of the photos done at the same time, which makes for a more efficient use of time.

Wow! The years seem to have just flown by since I myself was a bride on a very hot summer day in Fairfield on August 24, 1974. If we look like a couple of kids, it’s because we were . . . teenagers in fact! As you can see, wedding attire has changed quite a bit since my own wedding day. No strapless gowns back then as is the norm today. And that headpiece atop my veil . . . oh my. Seen any blue tux’s with ruffled shirts and a bow tie lately on any grooms?

Starting with the bride!



I love this shot of the bride and bridesmaids, especially the look of sheer joy on the Jr. Bridesmaid’s face as she throws her bouquet up in the air.

This Church has been the family Church for many years and the old stone wall is not only sentimental to them, it also makes for a good backdrop.


Reception followed at Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club. After introductions, they had their first dance as husband and wife.

Wedding cake topper had two silver hearts and their initials.

Gorgeous!


Guests had lots of fun dancing at the reception!

Just as the sun was low in the sky, we had the opportunity to take golf carts onto the golf course for some more shots.

What a great day and the beginning of a beautiful life together. Congrats!

Just a brief pause from wedding season . . . It all began August 17, 1995 — it seems like just yesterday that we brought home a little black fluff ball puppy. So cute! We never had a labrador retriever and let me tell you, she was a real initiation into the breed. Chloe is very strong willed and although we brought her to countless dog training sessions, she quickly learned how to train us. As the years went by, she mellowed out somewhat but she still to this day has her own opinion. She also just so happens to be the reason I pursued my interest in photography, which goes back many years. I am certain my first photography instructors, Mr. Rogers and Mr. Zak had their fill of seeing my doggy photos!

This was the day we went to the breeder’s house to bring Chloe home. I’ll always remember she was the little girl with the red ribbon around her neck. All of her collars since then have been red.


When Chloe was about a year and a half, we decided it would be nice for her to have a companion (besides us!). This was the photo that I took when we introduced Chloe to her little half-brother Cover. We weren’t quite sure how he would be received, after all, Chloe had been an only doggy up until this point, but they soon became best of buddys.

Photographs have enhanced many of my fondest memories. I am happy that we have the opportunity to do this for others as well.

What a wonderful wedding we had the pleasure of photographing in Santa Rosa on Saturday! It was an action-packed day with so many of my personal favorite photos to choose from that I found it difficult to pick just one to share (for now). This photo from their reception at Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club, is the one I ultimately chose of this romantic couple.
